BLM focused on drilling, not wildlife
PINEDALE, Wyo. - The Bureau of Land Management, caretaker of more land and wildlife than any federal agency, routinely restricts the ability of its own biologists to monitor wildlife damage caused by surging energy drilling on federal land, according to BLM officials and bureau documents. The officials and documents say that by keeping many wildlife biologists out of the field doing paperwork on new drilling permits and that by diverting agency money intended for wildlife conservation to energy programs, the BLM has compromised its ability to deal with the environmental consequences of the drilling boom it is encouraging on public lands.

Cohen needs to keep it up to medal
TURIN, Italy - Sasha Cohen says she will be looking for Shaun White at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, and she’ll be more than happy then to compare bling with America’s X-Games king as they parade around the stadium. “Yes, I’m fond of gold medals,” she said, giggling just a bit. But Americans back home are less easily amazed by such glittery medals in marginal sports. If these Olympic Games are to be rescued from the memory scrap pile, then Cohen will have to do something special.
